What is WCB?
WCB stands for the Worker’s Compensation Board. It is an organization that provides protection for workers and employers against work place injury.
What is considered a WCB claim?
Any accident that occurred while you were at work entitles you to claim with WCB. E.g.: A waitress slips on the wet floor in the restaurant and injures her ankle.
Who is covered?
Most employers and workers are covered by WCB; however, there are some industries that do not have WCB coverage. Please refer to the Alberta’s WCB website for further details.
What is covered?
Comprehensive medical and rehabilitation services are provided for treatment of the work place injury. These services include expenses such as medication, hospitalization, chiropractic treatments, physical therapy services or counselling.
WCB covers 22 treatments of regular chiropractic visits over a time period of 6 weeks. If the patient requires further treatment, the chiropractor may request for an extension of care to WCB.
What sort of information do I require before my first assessment?
Please have with you the following information:
-Date of accident
-Nature of accident
-Employment information
-Employer contact information
-Alberta Health Card number
-If you were sent for x-rays, please bring the report or a copy of the images.
